The Baillaud impact crater is located near the north pole of the moon . Its edge is heavily eroded and as a result of numerous impacts, a hilly ridge now surrounds the crater. In the northeast, it is partially overlaid by the crater Euctemon , which makes it bulge to the northwest. In the south the rim is completely missing and the crater is connected to a lava field .

The interior of the lunar crater Baillaud has been inundated by past lava flows , so that its flat surface can be characterized by many small craters in the western half. The secondary crater Baillaud E.

There is no central mountain or other significant ridges in the entire interior of the lunar crater. The Meton terrain is located in the south-western area of the crater . Further to the east, you will find the Petermann crater on the moon .

The shortening of the line of sight to Earth is responsible for the fact that the lunar crater Baillaud appears elongated.
