The euechinoidea include except cidaridae (Chidaridae) all extant sea urchin species . They are in four superorders divided. The euechinoidea has existed since the Triassic .

Systematics

Diadematacea and Echinacea used to be grouped together as regularia (sea urchins with radially symmetrical calcareous skeleton), atelostomata and gnathostomata formed the irregularia (sea urchins with bilateral symmetry). This is now considered obsolete, as Echinacea has both regular and irregular forms.
