Eugène Kalt
Eugène Kalt (born February 24, 1861 in Landser , † May 9, 1941 in Paris ) was a French ophthalmologist who was known for his use of contact lenses to treat keratoconus . In 1888 he worked on primitive, flat-fitting scleral lenses , which "should flatten the steep, conical tip and thus heal the symptoms". His first lenses were made from the undersides of test tubes .
Kalt was born in Landser in Alsace , France.
