The Eugen Kogon Prize is an international political award that the city of Königstein im Taunus has presented since 2002.

With this award the city wants to remember Eugen Kogon , who lived in Königstein until his death. In his spirit, it should be awarded to personalities "who feel committed to the basic values of living democracy, have put their lives in the service of these values and have been so successful that this can also be seen in their public significance" (according to self-portrayal) .

The award is endowed with 5,000 euros. A board of trustees chaired by City Councilor Alexander Freiherr von Bethmann and Mayor Leonhard Helm decides on the winner.
