Eugen Brückner

Eugen Brückner (born November 20, 1872 in Berlin ; † August 4, 1931 there ) was a German trade unionist and social democratic politician .

After elementary school he was a portfolio assistant until 1900 . He was a member of the SPD and the German Bookbinder Association. Since 1893 he was second chairman of the branch of the bookbinding association in Berlin. Between 1894 and 1897 and between 1901 and 1905 he was chairman of the branch. Between 1896 and 1899 he was also a member of the Gauvorstand of the association. From 1899 to 1901 he was the shop steward for the leather goods industry in Berlin.

He worked full-time between 1900 and 1904 as an employee of the local health insurance fund of Buchbinder in Berlin. After that he was workers secretary until 1921 . He was also a member of the Berlin Trade Union Commission. Between 1905 and 1931 he was a member of the main board of the bookbinder association.

Between 1910 and 1921 he was a member of the Berlin city council . Since 1921 he was a full-time city councilor and responsible for the employment office and deputy mayor of Berlin-Friedrichshain . In 1907 and 1912 he ran in vain for the Reichstag . Between 1919 and 1931 he was a member of the Prussian state assembly and the Prussian state parliament . He is buried in the socialist cemetery .
