Eugene Brütting

Eugen Brütting (born January 26, 1918 in Nuremberg ; † 1991 ) was a German shoemaker and sports shoe manufacturer.

Live and act

Brütting was trained as a "shoe modeller" and then spent several times abroad. As early as 1946 he began to manufacture his own shoes in Franconia . In 1965 he founded the EB-Sport-International branch with a focus on athletics.

In the late 1960s, in collaboration with the New Zealand athletics trainer Arthur Lydiard, he developed the new “Roadrunner” running shoe, which was launched in 1970, thus laying one of the foundations for the development of modern running shoes .

The EB-Sport International was founded in the 1980s by the GEKA Sport GmbH taken over and renamed today as Brütting & Co. EB-Sport Int . Brütting worked for the merged company as a shoe modeler and consultant until his death.
