Eugenio Henke

Eugenio Henke (born November 15, 1909 in Genoa , † February 5, 1990 in Rome ) was an admiral in the Italian Navy . From 1966 to 1970 he headed the secret service SID , from 1972 to 1975 he was chief of staff of the Italian armed forces .

Life

Henke was trained at the Accademia Navale . During the Second World War he served on the destroyer RN Vincenzo Gioberti and as commander of the torpedo boat Orsa and the submarine Sant'Alfonso . Among other things, he was awarded two bronze and two silver medals for bravery . After the war he was in command of training institutions, and headed various staffs and offices. From June 12, 1966 to October 12, 1970 he headed the military intelligence service Servizio Informazioni Difesa (SID).

Admiral Eugenio Henke was Commander of the Fleet from October 1970 to July 1972 and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces from August 1972 to January 1975.
