Euglypha laevis , also known as Small character Schalenamöbe, is a living in freshwater Schalenamöbe that the group of cercozoa belongs.
Their shell consists of very evenly arranged pebble scales, which are delicate and translucent and are often only recognizable at the edge. There are teeth around the mouth of the case that are not sawn. The shell amoebas are 30 to 60 micrometers in size and often live in peat moss, but also in wells, puddles, streams and rivers. They are native to Central Europe.
