Owl head (casting)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The owl head is a settlement on the street of the same name in Giessen . In the 1950s, a few years after the Second World War , makeshift shelters for refugees and the homeless were built here . Manisch is also spoken here , a sociolect that contains a vocabulary from Jenisch and Rotwelsch . There are projects to make the settlement more liveable, for example through an intercultural garden. At the initiative of Horst-Eberhard Richter , many self-organization projects were launched in the 1970s. Many residents in the neighborhood base their livelihood on social benefits .
