Eulogios (ascetic)

Eulogios was an ascetic monk in Egypt in the 7th century.

He is mentioned in the Skiten-Paterikon from the 7th century. Eulogios was a pupil of the Patriarch John V of Alexandria . He lived in a Skite (hermitage) near Alexandria . Many students came to him. During a night vigil together , he had a vision of angels coming out of the altar and staying in the church until dawn.

This vision is depicted on some icons and frescoes in Orthodox churches.
