Euphorbia banae is a species of the genus spurge ( Euphorbia ) in the family of Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbiaceae).
description
The succulent Euphorbia banae forms shrubs up to 2 meters high. A branched tuber forms upright shoots with a diameter of 2 centimeters at the base. At the upper branches, the shoots have a diameter of about 3 millimeters. The closely spaced leaves are at the tips of the branches. They are short-lived, lanceolate, almost sessile and are up to 2 centimeters long and 1 centimeter wide. Narrow secondary leaf spines up to 10 millimeters in length are formed, which are thickened and split at the base.
The inflorescence is formed from individual cymes , which stand on a stalk about 10 millimeters long. The broadly egg-shaped cyathophylls are 3 millimeters wide and are yellow-green in color. The nodding cyathia are about 5 millimeters in size and the elliptical nectar glands are colored yellow. The ovary is almost sessile. Nothing is known about the fruits and seeds.
