Euphorbia bayeri is a species of the genus milkweed ( Euphorbia ) in the family of the milkweed family(Euphorbiaceae).

description

The succulent Euphorbia bayeri forms very small shrubs up to 12 centimeters in height that are dioecious . The spread and flat shoots are about 4 millimeters thick.

Single cyathia or simple and terminal cymen are formed, which are seated and reach about 2.25 millimeters in diameter. The elliptical nectar glands are colored red and border each other. The ovary sits in an inflorescence covered with many hairs. The bluntly lobed fruit is about 4 millimeters in size and is almost sessile. The egg-shaped seed is covered with flat wrinkles and trimmed at the base.

Distribution and systematics

Euphorbia bayeri is widespread in the South African province of Eastern Cape .

The species was first described in 1988 by Leslie Charles Leach .
