Euphorbia bergeri is a species of the genus spurge ( Euphorbia ) in the family of Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbiaceae).
description
The succulent Euphorbia bergeri forms small shrubs with an inverted conical body from a succulent root that merges into the stem axis. Around the central point of vegetation covered with warts stand upright to spread branches that are 7.5 to 22.5 centimeters long and 17 millimeters thick. They are divided into sections and provided with clear and obliquely elongated warts that can be up to 8 millimeters long and 5 millimeters wide. The linear leaves are up to 12 millimeters long and are short-lived.
Individual cyathia are formed at the tips of the branches, which stand on 4 to 10 millimeter long inflorescence stalks, on which in turn there are about four small bracts. These bracts usually harden and remain on the stems. The cyathia are up to 7 millimeters in size. The elongated nectar glands are colored green and have three to seven short, whitish appendages on the edge. The ovary is sessile. Nothing is known about the fruits and seeds.
Distribution and systematics
Euphorbia bergeri is only known from culture.
The species was first described in 1915 by Nicholas Edward Brown .
The species is thought to be a hybrid, one of which could be Euphorbia caput-medusae as a parent .
