Euphorbia corymbosa is a species of the genus spurge ( Euphorbia ) in the family of Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbiaceae).
description
The succulent Euphorbia corymbosa grows as a much branched, dioecious small shrub and is up to 30 centimeters high or higher. The oppositely arranged shoots are up to about 4 millimeters thick. The poorly developed leaves are very short-lived.
Many terminal cymes are formed. They are forked twice, almost sitting, and stand in dense clusters. The spatulate bracts are up to 2 millimeters long. The cyathia reach 2.5 millimeters in diameter and the elongated nectar glands touch each other. Nothing is known about the fruit and the seed.
Distribution and systematics
Euphorbia corymbosa is common in the South African province of Eastern Cape . The plants are only known from the type location.
The species was first described in 1915 by Nicholas Edward Brown . A synonym for this species is Tirucallia corymbosa (NEBr.) PV Heath (1996).
