Euphorbia dedzana is a species of the genus spurge ( Euphorbia ) in the family of Euphorbiaceae (Euphorbiaceae).

The succulent Euphorbia dedzana grows as an abundantly branched shrub and reaches a height of about 30 centimeters. Plants up to 1 meter in diameter develop through the presence of rhizomes . The square shoots are up to 75 centimeters long and 1 centimeter wide. The edges are set with bulging teeth at a distance of 14 millimeters from each other. The narrow triangular and individually standing thorn shields are up to 10 millimeters long and 1.5 millimeters wide. Thorns up to 9 millimeters long and secondary leaf thorns up to 2 millimeters in length are formed.

The inflorescence consists of single and simple cymes , which are located on 1.5 millimeter long stems. There are cyathia formed with a diameter of 4.5 millimeters. The elongated nectar glands are colored yellow and butt against each other. The bluntly lobed fruit is 3.25 millimeters wide and 4.5 millimeters long. She is almost sitting. The egg-shaped seed is 1.8 millimeters long and 1.3 millimeters wide. It is covered with irregular warts.

Distribution and systematics

Euphorbia dedzana is widespread in central Malawi and is only known from the type location .

The species was first described in 1992 by Leslie Charles Leach .
