Eupoieia Order

The Eupoieia Order ( Greek Τάγμα της Ευποιΐας , Tagma tis Evpiias ), also known as the Order of Charity , was founded on May 7, 1948 by King Paul I of Greece as an order of women and charity. It can be awarded to nationals and foreigners who have made outstanding contributions to the country or in the field of science and art.

Order classes

The order has five classes:

Order decoration

The medal consists of a golden five-petalled rose with blue enameled leaves. In the golden medallion, which is surrounded by a white enamelled ring with the inscription ΕΥΠΟΙΙΑ (charity), you can see Mother Mary with the Christ child in her arms.

Carrying method

The Grand Cross is carried on a sash on the left shoulder with a silver breast star . Grand commanders and commanders wear the decoration on a lady's bow, the former also wear a breast star. The gold or silver medal is worn on the ribbon on the left side of the chest.

The ribbon is yellow with blue stripes.

Others

After the end of the monarchy in Greece, the order was not awarded from 1973 to 1975.

All medals are to be returned after the owner's death.
