The European Heart Journal , abbreviated as Eur. Heart J. , is a scientific journal published in English by Oxford University Press on behalf of the European Society of Cardiology . The first issue appeared in February 1980. The magazine is currently published 24 times a year. Experimental and clinical original and review articles from all areas of the cardiovascular system , consensus papers and current opinions as well as cardiovascular flashlights from all areas of the cardiovascular system are published. The guidelines of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC Clinical Practice Guidelines) on various heart diseases are particularly important . The editors also encourage their readers to comment on the published work.
