European Union of Rechtspfleger

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The European Union of Rechtspfleger (EUR) was founded in 1967. The Union is a non-governmental organization (NGO), since 1971 with advisory status at the Council of Europe and since 2003 as an organization with observer status at the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ).

tasks and activities

The association represents the profession of the Rechtspfleger and comparable legal professions in Europe. Several non-European organizations have joined the organization as associate members. It is politically neutral. The most important goals are to participate in the creation, development and harmonization of laws on a European and international level. To promote judicial cooperation in Europe and to improve the efficiency and proximity of the courts to the citizen, the association drew up a green paper for a European Rechtspfleger in 2008 . The green paper was written under the leadership of Thomas Kappl, President of the EUR from 2007 to 2013. In 2016, this Green Paper was updated by the "White Paper for a Rechtspfleger for Europe (RGFE)" and expanded into a concrete model.
