European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy

The European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy ( EAEPE ) is an organization founded by social scientists and economists in 1989 and based in Rotterdam , the Netherlands . The most important European association of heterodox economists with around 500 members is also the second largest association of economists in Europe.

The EAEPE promotes evolutionary , dynamic and realistic approaches in economic theory and economic policy on a pluralistic basis . In particular, works in the tradition of John Commons , Nicholas Kaldor , Michał Kalecki , William Kapp , John Maynard Keynes , Alfred Marshall , Karl Marx , Gunnar Myrdal , Edith Penrose , François Perroux , Karl Polanyi , Joan Robinson , Joseph Schumpeter , Herbert A. . Simon, Adam Smith , Thorstein Veblen and Max Weber .

Prices

The EAEPE awards three prizes each year:

  • The K. William Kapp Prize for the best article within the EAEPE Theoretical Perspectives (in collaboration with the William Kapp Foundation)
  • The Gunnar Myrdal Prize for the best monograph within the EAEPE Theoretical Perspectives
  • The Herbert Simon Young Scholar Prize for the best conference contribution by a young researcher
