European Coalition for Israel
The European Coalition for Israel (ECI) is a pro-Israel lobby organization at the European Parliament in Brussels .
It was founded in April 2004 on the initiative of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem together with Christian Friends of Israel , Christians for Israel International and Bridges for Peace and goes back to the efforts of Jewish business people from Europe. The goals are better relations between Israel and the EU and anti-Semitism protest . The aim is to later have the same influence as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee in Washington .
The foundation was due to the dissatisfaction with the EU -Gelder that the Palestinian Authority until the election victory of Hamas were paid and the inconsistent support from EU countries in the Iraq war, the United States in 2003. Strategically it's the future for Turkey integration in the NATO -space (Bridge to Israel) and a unified approach to Syria and Iran .
