The German section, EGTA D , is divided into regional associations and has a total of around 200 members. The President of the German Section is Alfred Eickholt, Federal Managing Director is Helmut Richter, and the Honorary President is the guitarist John Williams .

EGTA D organizes and promotes congresses, symposia, competitions and training events on current and historical topics from all areas of the instrument.
