The European Internet Foundation ( EIF ) is a 1999 established association of Belgian law for EU - parliamentarians , the impact on the IT policy in Europe wants to exercise. The chairman of the association is Elly Plooij-van Gorsel .

Issues that have been shaped and influenced by the EIF include, for example, Internet governance and harmonization in the area of intellectual property law .

In addition to parliamentarians, lobby organizations and companies can also become members of the association, which are invited to events with representatives of the EU. Civil rights organizations such as European Digital Rights (EDRi) are also listed as members.

Membership for parliamentarians is free, business members pay an annual fee between 2,000 and 10,000 euros.
