European Tenpin Bowling Federation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The European Tenpin Bowling Federation (ETBF) is an organization in the bowling sport and the organizer of the European Bowling Tour (EBT).

In addition to the Asian (ABF) and American (PABCON) tours, the EBT is part of the ranking system of the World Tenpin Bowling Association (WTBA).

The ETBF is a section of the World Bowling Association. The ETBF's jurisdiction covers continental Europe, the British Isles, Israel and the North Atlantic Islands.

The ETBF trainer system

In contrast to most popular sports, bowling has long had no uniform coaching system . For this purpose, the ETBF founded a specialist committee made up of professional players , coaches , sports physiologists and sports psychologists . This specialist committee created a structured curriculum for trainer training in order to be able to teach bowling competently according to principles valid throughout Europe.

The training to become a trainer is divided into three levels. The trainers must teach a prescribed number of hours between the levels before they can take the next trainer development course. While the courses for Level-1 and Level-2 can take place at any location in Europe, the Level-3 course is held exclusively in the official ETBF training center - the Kuortane Bowling Training Center in Kuortane / Finland .

The contents of the training are constantly monitored by the ETBF specialist committee and adapted to developments in bowling.

Level 1

At level 1, trainers are given the ability to teach beginners and children. In addition to general sports and bowling-specific content, the basics of sports education are also imparted, especially in the area of children's training. There are no prerequisites to get started, although some gaming experience can be useful. The course includes theoretical and practical elements. After this 4-day course, the title “Trainer” may be used. The course ends with an examination; if you fail, the course must be repeated. In the role of level 1 trainer, 150 hours must be taught in order to finally complete level 1. The degree is attested with an ETBF Level 1 certificate.

Level 2

In level 2, coaches are given the ability to train advanced players and performance-oriented tournament or league players. As a result, the content builds on level 1 and goes deeper into the techniques, materials and physics in bowling. The course ends with an examination; if you fail, the course must be repeated. After this 4-day course, a further 200 hours must be taught as a level 2 trainer in order to finally complete level 2. The degree is attested with an ETBF Level 2 certificate.

Level 3

The highest level in bowling trainer training is ETBF level 3. After this qualification, you have the qualification to work as a trainer on a national level (Bundesliga, national team). Based on level 2, all areas of bowling and its communication are taught in this 5-day course. In particular, knowledge of sports psychology, e.g. B. mediated for competitions. The course ends with an examination; if you fail, the course must be repeated. After successfully completing this training, the participant is a certified level 3 trainer.
