history

EuroProp International TP400-D6 at the Paris Air Show , 2007

Europrop GmbH was founded in 2002. One year after its founding, EPI GmbH was entrusted by Airbus Military with the planning of the drive motor for the military Airbus A400M , the TP400 . The engine planning analysis begins in 2004, and the first test on the ground takes place a year later. The first engine test with propellers followed in 2006, and the first flight simulation in 2008.

Then in 2009 the first flight of the A400M machine takes place. Two years later, the TP400 engine is certified in accordance with European civil aviation standards ( EASA certification). 2012 is the year of the first engine delivery. In 2013 the A400M was put into service by the French Air Force . In the following year, three other nations can be supplied with the machine: Turkey, Great Britain and Germany. 2015 saw the first delivery to the Royal Air Force of Malaysia , i.e. the first export customer for the A400M and the TP400 engine, and in 2016 the Spanish Air Force received its first machine.

In 2017, EPI GmbH signed a support contract with the Royal Air Force of Malaysia , which was extended in 2019.
