Eutropia (daughter of Constantius I)
Eutropia (* before 306; † 350/351) was a late antique empress of the Constantinian dynasty .
Eutropia was the daughter of Emperor Constantius I and his wife Theodora . Her siblings were Julius Constantius , Flavius Dalmatius , Flavius Hannibalianus , Flavia Iulia Constantia and Anastasia ; Emperor Constantine the Great was her half-brother. Little is known about Eutropia's life except that she was the mother of Flavius Popilius Nepotianus . He was proclaimed emperor on June 2, 350 in Rome against the usurper Magnentius , who ruled the west of the empire. From the name of her son it can be concluded that the father was probably Virius Nepotianus , the consul of the year 336. After her son died in the battle against Magnentius, Eutropia was also executed.
