Eutychianos
Eutychianos was a late ancient Roman historian in the 4th century.
Eutychianos came from Cappadocia and was probably a Christian. He took part as an officer in the campaign of Emperor Julian against the Sassanids , which ended in a catastrophe: The Romans had to conclude an inglorious peace treaty under Jovian . The campaign had apparently left a lasting impression on Eutychianos. Like some other participants (see for example Magnus von Karrhai ), Eutychianos wrote a report on Julian's Persian War after his return , which has only survived in fragments. However, his work served as a source for later (ancient) historians who dealt with Julian (perhaps Ammianus Marcellinus , Zosimos , certainly Johannes Malalas ).
