Euzen ([yo͞o-siːn], pronounced like “you seen”) is a Danish - Norwegian band that plays progressive electronic rock / pop with clear Nordic influences.

history

The band was founded in 2006 by the Dane Christopher Juul (2003-2013 with Valravn ) and the Norwegian Maria Franz. The band made their first public appearance in 2008.

Since 2008, Euzen played around 90 gigs, mostly in Germany, but also in their home country Denmark, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Norway, Switzerland, Russia and the USA. During this time they played at some larger festivals such as the TFF Rudolstadt (2011), the Castlefest in the Netherlands (2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2019), the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig (2012, 2015) or the M'era Luna in Hildesheim (2014).

In November 2014, Euzen started a crowdfunding campaign at kickstarter.com asking for funding for a music video for the new single Phobia . Within eight weeks, DKK 21,450 (around € 2880) was raised, more than double the minimum amount of money required. With the new album Metamorph they went on a big tour in Germany in early 2015.

At the beginning of 2018 they moved into a new, own studio ("Lava Studios 2.0") on the outskirts of Copenhagen , as the building of the first studio in the city was demolished at the end of 2017. This and the great success of Christopher and Maria with the band Heilung , the music project “STOI” or the founding of the band “Songleikr” are reasons why Euzen was quiet from 2016 onwards.
