Eva-Maria Kröger (born June 16, 1982 in Rostock ) is a German political scientist, local politician in Rostock and state politician in the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania for Die Linke .

Life

Eva-Maria Kröger grew up in Rostock and graduated from the Goethe-Gymnasium in Rostock in 2002. In the same year, Kröger began studying political science and public law at the University of Rostock , which she completed with a bachelor's degree in 2005, where her fellow students included Steffen Bockhahn . She then moved to Tübingen, where she focused on the European Union as part of the Master's degree in Comparative Government Studies at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen . She obtained her master's degree in 2008. After a subsequent phase of life in Mannheim, Eva-Maria Kröger moved back to Rostock in 2008. From 2007 to 2009 she worked as a freelance journalist. She later worked as a member of the Bundestag, initially for Steffen Bockhahn from 2009 to 2013 and then for Heidrun Bluhm from 2013 to 2016 .

Kröger has been a member of the Rostock citizenship (local authority) since 2009, currently as parliamentary group leader. She has also been the district chairman of her party since 2014. From 2013 to 2016 she was also the chairwoman of the supervisory board of Volkstheater Rostock GmbH . In the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 2016 , she received a mandate from the LINKE state list. In the parliamentary group, she is the spokesperson for the topics of living and building, culture, media and digitization.

Eva-Maria Kröger is widowed and has a daughter.

Her hobbies include baking, exercising and spending time with friends.
