Eva García Sáenz de Urturi (* 1972 in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the Basque Country ) is a Spanish writer.

Life

At the age of 15, Garcia Sáenz moved from Vitoria to Alicante , where she still lives today. After finishing school, she trained as an optician . Then she worked in her learned profession at the University of Alicante .

Writing activity

Her interest in writing arose in the course of her professional activity. She spent many evenings doing research and writing down texts. For about three years she worked on her first work, which was published in 2012: “La saga de los longevos: La vieja familia” (translated: The legend of the long-lived: the old family). The novel was a great success in Spain.

In 2014 the sequel story of La vieja familia appeared: “Los hijos de Adán” (German: the children of Adam). She also published in the same year: "Pasaje a Tahití" (German: Passage nach Tahiti). Both books sold successfully.

In 2016 the first part of a three-volume novel was published: "El silencio de la ciudad blanca" (German: The silence of the white city). A detective story set in her hometown of Vitoria. In preparation, she took courses at a police academy on eye inspection and the evaluation of fingerprints. The trilogy has sold over a million copies in Spain. The three volumes have been translated into several languages, there is also a German version.

Based on the trilogy "El silencio de la ciudad blanca", a film was shot in Spanish in 2019, which is also available on Netflix.
