Eva Mücke

Eva Mücke (born May 10, 1937 in Rostock ) is a German fashion designer and fashion graphic artist who taught fashion as a professor at the Berlin Art School until her retirement in 2002 .

Live and act

Eva Mücke completed an apprenticeship as a tailor in 1955 and completed her Abitur at the same time. Afterwards she studied until 1959 at the Engineering School for Clothing Technology in Berlin (today Berlin University of Technology and Economics ). In 1959 she moved to the then University of Fine and Applied Arts Berlin-Weißensee ( Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee ) in the field of fashion and left it in 1963 with a diploma as a fashion designer .

After completing her studies, she worked as a designer at the fashion institute of the GDR and made designs for the clothing and jersey industry in the GDR. In 1967 she moved to the Scientific and Technical Center in Apolda as chief designer for two years, where she coordinated the collections of the top tricot industry in coordination with the individual companies. From 1969 to 1970 she worked as an editor for the fashion magazine Sibylle and realized her own model series and drew fashion graphics for the magazine. From 1970 Mücke worked for VHB Exquisit as a designer for women's clothing and jerseys. At the same time, she began teaching in 1978 in the fashion department at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art, from 1982 as a lecturer in fashion design. She was appointed professor in 1993. After her retirement in 2002, she was involved in setting up the fashion department at the Schwerin design school.

In addition to her work as a designer, Mücke has devoted herself to fashion graphics. Work was published in the magazine Sibylle, as well as by the VHB Exquisit and the Modeinstitut der DDR. In addition, Mücke has participated in art exhibitions several times as an individual or in a group as a graphic artist or fashion designer. Her works are privately and publicly owned.

Eva Mücke was married, has two grown children and lives in Berlin-Friedrichshagen .
