Evangelical Chapel (Klinikum Haar)
The Protestant chapel on the grounds of the psychiatric Isar-Amper-Klinikum München-Ost in Haar was built in 1905 as one of the two patient churches of the then Upper Bavarian sanatorium and nursing home in Eglfing. The planning was originally carried out by the architect Johann Schobloch ; the final design came from architect Merkler.
The interior of the chapel is around seven by ten meters under a simple, flat wooden ceiling, the altar area forms a semicircular apse. At the time of construction, the wall was painted halfway up using stencil technology, which imitated coffered wood paneling. In 1957 the interior was redesigned and painted completely white in the nave; the two windows in the apse were walled up and the wall painting there in Art Nouveau ornaments was replaced by a fresco by the Feldkirchen painter Konrad Schmid-Meil .
From 1983 the building administration of the district of Upper Bavaria, together with the clinic, the State Office for the Preservation of Monuments and the Protestant Church, decided to restore the original design elements. The renovation began in 1995; In 2008 it was completed with the purchase of a new organ - the predecessor installed in the late 1960s was destroyed by a patient in 2003.
The chapel is listed as an architectural monument under file number D-1-84-123-9 in the Bavarian monument list (see also: List of architectural monuments in Haar ).
memorial
Immediately to the east of the chapel is the clinic's memorial in memory of the patients who were murdered from 1940 as part of the National Socialist euthanasia program " Aktion T-4 ". It was created by the sculptor Josef Golwitzer and inaugurated on January 18, 1990, the 50th anniversary of the first evacuation of patients.
