Evangelical Church Hüsingen

The Evangelical Church of Hüsingen in the Hüsingen district of the Steinen community was first mentioned in the second half of the 14th century. The current structure dates from 1726.

history

Foundation stone with the year 1726

The church in Hüsingen is documented for the first time in the years 1360 to 1370 as a branch church of Steinen ("Steina cum filia Husikon"). The church appeared as an independent church (kilche ze Huisinkon) in 1406, but was again referred to as a branch church in 1508. Since it is reported in 1672 that there was no pulpit , it can be concluded that no service was held at that time.

The structural condition deteriorated so much that at the beginning of the 18th century the sermons in the church had to be carried out in stones. In 1726 it was renewed; the year was chiseled over the entrance portal.

description

The small church is centrally located on the winding thoroughfare in Hüsingen. The church consists of a simple hall building with one in the middle slightly buckled gable roof and a roof turret on the western front. This has two round arched sound arcades on each side and a pyramid roof with a tower ball and cross as a closure. The building has corner blocks from the floor to the roof edge. The main portal is on the west facade. The clock face of the tower clock sits in the roof gable above the entrance. To the left of the entrance there is a memorial plaque for seven participants in the wars of 1866 and 1870/1871. Next to the church there is a memorial stone for those who fell in both world wars.

The first officially secured bell was given to the church in 1672. The bell and one that was added later had to be surrendered as a result of the world wars. Today's bronze bells were cast in 1953 by the Bachert foundry in the Bad Friedrichshall factory . Their striking notes are g ′ ′ and b ′ ′.

Today's organ was built in 1993 by the firm of Freiburger Orgelbau Hartwig Späth . It has a manual with four registers and an attached pedal.
