Evangelical parish church in Unterschützen

The Evangelical Lutheran parish Unterschützen AB stands in the village Unterschützen in the municipality Oberschuetzen in the district of Oberwart in Burgenland . The parish church belongs to the Superintendentur AB Burgenland and is a listed building .

history

The church was built from 1859 to 1861 and elevated to parish church in 1863. From 1972 to 1974 the church was restored.

architecture

The interior of the church

The large neo-Gothic church has a slender south tower with a pointed helmet. The nave with two rows of windows has an apse of the same width with a three-eighth end, the facade has buttresses.

The four-bay hall has flat square vaults between belts and a square vault with caps between belts above the apse. The three-sided gallery has an openwork wooden parapet.

Furnishing

The high pulpit altar in baroque forms names the painter J. Rohrer and the carpenter J. Stoka in 1861. The altarpiece Resurrection was painted by Johann Rohrer. A chandelier from the second half of the 19th century has wood carving on the glass prismatic hanging.

The organ was built in 1870 by Friedrich Werner from Graz.
