Evangelos Vourtzoumis ( Greek Ευάγγελος Βουρτζούμης , born October 30, 1969 in Greece ) is a former Greek basketball player .

Career

Evangelos Vourtzoumis began his professional career with the Greek first division club Aris Thessaloniki . In addition to players such as Nikos Galis and Panagiotis Giannakis , he played for seven seasons for the Northern Greek club and won three championships and three cups in 1993, the European Cup Winners' Cup . In 1995 Vourtzoumis moved together with his teammate John Korfas to league competitor Panathinaikos Athens , where he won the most important European title, the Intercontinental Cup and another championship and cup with the European Cup. After a season with Athens-based club Niar Ist, Vourtzoumis moved to Marousi Athens in 1999 . With Marousi he reached the final of the Saporta Cup in his second season and defeated the French representative Élan Sportif Chalonnais with 74-72. For Vourtzoumis this was the fourth international title of his career. He ended his active career in 2002 with the Greek second division club KAO Dramas .

National team

With the Greek national team, Vourtzoumis has eight participations in which he got a total of 47 points (5.88 on average). He made his debut on November 10, 1992 in Piraeus in a game against Hungary which Greece won 83-68.
