Everardo González

Everardo González is a Mexican film director , producer and cameraman . He is considered one of the most important representatives of the Latin American documentary film .

His films have been shown at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam and the festivals in Toulouse, Locarno, Montreal, Sarajevo, Guadalajara and Morelia , among others . In 2017 he received an invitation to the Berlinale in the “Berlinale Special” section with La libertad del diablo (Devil's Freedom) . The film received the Amnesty International Film Prize there.

González is a member of the Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas . In 2018 he was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
