Evert Dirk Baumann

Evert Dirk Baumann (born November 17, 1883 in Dordrecht ; † May 25, 1966 in Oosterbeek ) was a Dutch doctor and medical historian .

Life

Baumann attended grammar school in Dordrecht until 1902 and then the University of Amsterdam until 1909 . Here he received his doctorate in 1910 with the treatise Johann van Beverwijck in leven en werken as a doctor of medicine. From 1911 to 1917 he was a doctor in Rotterdam , from 1918 he worked in the same capacity in Oude Wetering and in 1925 went to Oosterbeek as a doctor, where he worked until the end of his life. Baumann had written a large number of treatises on the history of medicine . He placed particular emphasis on ancient pathology and popular psychological problems. He has also appeared as an article author of the Dutch standard biographical work Nieuw Nederlandsch Biografisch Woordenboek .
