Ewald Foth

Ewald Foth (born August 1, 1908 in Stutthof ; † October 22, 1948 in Danzig ) was SS-Oberscharführer and head of the Jewish camp in the Stutthof concentration camp near Danzig. He was sentenced to death in the 2nd Stutthof Trial and hanged on October 22, 1948 .

biography

From 1936 Foth belonged to the SS. The Nazi Party , he joined the 1937th On November 1, 1941, he joined the Waffen SS . From September 1939 to April 1945 he was part of the Stutthof camp team. Originally he served as a guard, but was quickly promoted and made head of the Jewish camp in 1944. Foth was one of the cruellest SS men in Stutthof and tortured the Jewish prisoners in particular. He often took part in the executions and other repressive measures.
