Ewaldt Hintz

Ewaldt Hintz , also Hinsch (* 1613 in Danzig ; † 1668) was a German composer and organist .

Hintz was a student of Johann Jakob Froberger . He can be traced back to 1656 as an organist at the Danish court. From around 1660 to around 1666 he was Paul Siefert's successor organist at St. Mary's Church in Gdansk .

There is only one organ chorale by Ewaldt Hintz about Alone to you, Herr Jesu Christ , which stylistically belongs to the North German Organ School . It comes from the Pelplin organ tablature and is listed there with the author's name “Ewaldt”.
