The Exchange Chambers are a historic building at 13 Tyne Street in the Victorian city ​​center of the New Zealand city of Oamaru in the Otago region .

It was built in 1875 according to designs by architects Forrester & Lemon in the historic city center of Oamarus for £ 1,100 as an office building for entrepreneur George Sumpter, and a year later a grain store was added to the rear.

On July 2, 1982, the building was classified as a Category 2 Monument (Historic Place Category II) by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust under number 2267 .

In 1989 the structure became the property of the Oamaru Whitestone Civic Trust, an organization dedicated to the preservation and economic exploitation of Oamaru's Victorian heritage. In 2001 they restored the facade, staircase and offices on the upper floor.

The structure is part of the Harbor / Tyne Street Historic Area ensemble, which is also under protection . The neighboring building Darling McDavell Limited, Stock and Station Agents is also a listed building.
