Darling McDavell Limited, Stock and Station Agents , also known as Sumpter's Exchange, is a historic building at 11 Tyne Street in the Victorian city ​​center of the New Zealand city ​​of Oamaru in the Otago region .

It was built in 1876 as a warehouse for the entrepreneur George Sumpter, who also owned the neighboring house at 13 Tyne Street and on which a warehouse was also built on the back in the same year. Sumpter was the first town clerk and mayor as well as co-founder of the Oamaru Harbor Board, the port administration of the then important seaport, which later had its seat in the nearby Oamaru Harbor Board Office .

Later the structure was used by Darling McDavell Ltd, Stock & Station Agents , who traded in agricultural products and livestock.

The one-story structure extends back to Harbor Street, where it can be recognized by arched windows with wide balustrades.

On July 2, 1982, the building was classified as a Category 2 Monument (Historic Place Category II) by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust under number 2275 .

In 1989 the structure became the property of the Oamaru Whitestone Civic Trust, an organization dedicated to the preservation and economic exploitation of Oamaru's Victorian heritage.

It is part of the Harbor / Tyne Street Historic Area ensemble, which is also under protection . The neighboring buildings, Exchange Chambers and Smith's Grain Store, are also protected as historical monuments.
