Executive Assistant

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Austria, an executive assistant is a person who primarily carries out administrative activities in the area of police services. These people are not executives , i.e. police officers, but administrative officials . Since 2009, these officials have mainly been taken over from the Post and Telekom Austria division .

tasks

Executive assistants mainly carry out activities in the back office that are not original police work. This includes, for example, "control and post-processing of data" as well as "writing, shipping, filing and other office work". Activities such as securing the way to school or evaluating data in the criminal investigation area are also possible. The aim of hiring executive assistants was to relieve police officers performing field work. Executive assistants are remunerated according to the A scheme of the Civil Service Law Act (executive staff according to the E scheme), do not wear a uniform and are not armed. They are not allowed to perform executive service within the meaning of the Security Police Act and therefore the officers concerned are not organs of the public security service .

history

In 2009, Interior Minister Fekter made it possible for officials from the ranks of Post and Telecom to move to the Interior Ministry. In their previous area, these officials were no longer needed due to restructuring in the privately run company, but dismissal was also not possible due to their status. The Federal Ministry of the Interior has defined 1,000 jobs for these officials.
