Expedition style
The expedition style is a style of mountaineering , especially in non- alpine areas. It is characterized by a high level of material and personal commitment. Porters are deployed on the way to the mountain. On the mountain itself, the route is prepared by laying fixed ropes and setting up several camps. The route to be walked is then walked by small rope teams , possibly with the support of high porters. The descent is seldom straight to the base camp. Often the climbers spend the night in higher camps before the descent.
