Express Island is a 1 km long, narrow and rugged island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located near the northwest coast of Greenwich Island immediately north of Greaves Peak .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1977 after the US schooner Express under Captain Ephraim Williams, who was part of the sealer fleet between 1820 and 1821, which operated in the waters around the South Shetland Islands.
