The Expressionale was an art exhibition in Berlin from May 25th to August 24th, 2008. The exhibition venue was the Park Kolonnaden on Potsdamer Platz .

The exhibition consisted of seven solo exhibitions. The focus of the Expressionale was the Karsch-Nierendorf Collection with paintings, graphics and sculptures by Dix , Kirchner , Mueller , Rohlfs and Scharl . Under the title "George Grosz and the Erotica", the Expressionale presented works by George Grosz , one of the most important representatives of the New Objectivity . With works by Louise Christine Thiele (sculpture) and Rolf Händler (painting), the exhibition organizers spanned a range from the artists of classical modernism to expressive contemporary art. The show was rounded off by unique prints by Franz Hitzler and Bernd Zimmer from editions by Karl and Ingrid Imhof.

The organizers intended to have the Expressionale take place annually with changing exhibitions at Potsdamer Platz.
