history

In 1957 a group of handicraft puppet makers founded the Fábricas Agrupadas de Muñecas de Onil in the Valencian city of Onil in the province of Alicante . The valley in which the city of Onil is located is considered the cradle of the Spanish doll and toy manufacturers.

In 1958 the first puppet series appeared under the name Güendolina . From 1967 Quirón plush toys were produced, a brand that is still sold today. In 1968 the Nancy puppet series was born. The series was based on current fashion trends from the start and quickly became the dream of the Spanish girls' world. Nancy's commercial success is due in large part to the fact that from the start she was stocked with a rich wardrobe for every occasion and made with different hairstyles and hair colors. In 1996 it was followed by the Barriguitas brand , a small baby doll that has had an infinite number of accessories and outfits over the years. In 1997 the baby doll Nenuco followed . In 1983 the PinyPon toy series was brought out, which is still present in children's playrooms with its series of figures, houses, yachts, airplanes and camping accessories. In 1992 Famosa Micro Machines took over a range of model cars a few centimeters in size. Of these, sets for films and series such as Starship Troopers, Star Trek, Indiana Jones or Star Wars were also produced, some of which also contained characters, aircraft and ships in addition to the respective vehicles. In 2005 FAMOSA acquired the Feber toy company, which under FAMOSA became an international success. In 2006, the Nancy doll was reissued and symbolized the childhood of the generation of girls in the 1960s and 1970s.

In 2010 the Monterrey plant in Mexico opens. In 2011 the US subsidiary opened in New Jersey, which manufactures and sells FAMOSA products for the US market.
