Fährstrasse 17 (Stralsund)

The building with the postal address Fährstraße 17 is a listed building on Fährstraße in Stralsund , on the corner of Fährwall .
The plastered, two-storey gabled house is essentially medieval ; the surrounding masonry has been preserved. The slightly stepped gable facing Fährstraße dates from the 18th century. At the back there is a Kemladen , which is executed in half-timbered .
The house is located in the core area of the city area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the “ historic old towns of Stralsund and Wismar ”. It is entered in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund with the number 166.
Originally the building was in the immediate vicinity of the inner ferry gate , which is no longer there today.
In the house there is a pub (“Zur Fähre”) that dates back to 1332 and is at least the oldest of its kind in Stralsund and one of the oldest in Europe .

"
