Federal national cultural autonomy of Russian Germans

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Federal National Cultural Autonomy of Russian Germans (FNKA), also called Federal National-Cultural Autonomy (Russian: национально-культурная автономия российских немцев), is a Russian-German interest group in Russia .

history

The association was founded in 1997 on the basis of a law of the same name. The main goal of the association is the rehabilitation of Russian Germans in Russia. Viktor Baumgärtner , FNKA founder and major Moscow entrepreneur and politician, calls for the restoration of "historical justice" and German autonomy on the Volga. Together with some opponents of Baumgärtner from the regional cultural autonomies, Heinrich Martens , President of the International Association of German Culture , organized an extraordinary congress in April 2009 and was elected FNKA President. The legality was recognized by the Ministry of Justice, but the dispute between the two associations was not settled. The FNKA contributes to the self-organization of the German minority in Russia.
