Five Friends is a television series from 1995/1996. The British-German co-production is based on the Five Friends series by British author Enid Blyton .
An adaptation of the same title based on Enid Blyton's template was made in 1977/1978 .
background
In this remake of the series with 26 episodes, in contrast to previous films, almost all of the stories of the Five Friends were implemented. Only the less well-known short stories, which only became better known in 1995, when the series was being made, when the volume: Five friends master every danger appeared, were not made into a film. The Blyton script of The Famous Five - Adventure, discovered in 2000, was also not made into a film .
The series takes place in the 1950s. In addition, the age of the children is identical to that in the novel, which makes Anne much younger than in the first TV series. However, the dog Timmy is very small contrary to what is described in the books.
This series was also released on DVD by UFA in Germany in 2004 and 2005 .
