Prince of Soubise

With the title of Prince of Soubise (Prince de Soubise) was awarded in 1667 François de Rohan (1630-1712), a younger son of Hercule de Rohan , Duc de Montbazon . At the same time the rule of Soubise was elevated to a principality.

The elevation was part of the Rohan's efforts to rise to the first rank of the French nobility.
