The Wählergemeinschaft airport expansion opponents Frankfurt (FAG) from 2001 to 2012 the city council of Frankfurt represented.

Until 2001, the abbreviation FAG also stood for Flughafen Frankfurt Main AG , the operating company of Frankfurt Airport , which changed its name to Fraport in the course of its internationalization and its IPO .

In the 2001 and 2006 local elections, the electoral community won four seats with 3.9% and 3.8% of the votes cast, respectively. From 2001 to 2006, the FAG was the largest opposition group in the Frankfurt city parliament. In the 2011 local elections, the FAG was only able to win one seat, the MP joined the FDP parliamentary group and then left the FAG at their request. The FAG is still represented in the local advisory board 5 and in the regional assembly South Hesse. Ursula Fechter, long-time city councilor of FAG and spokeswoman for the Sachsenhausen citizens' initiative against the new runway, ran for the mayoral election on March 11, 2012 . It reached 4.0% of the vote, but 28.1% in Sachsenhausen-Süd .

The members of the FAG parliamentary group are citizens who, in addition to their involvement in citizens' initiatives , want to prevent the expansion of Frankfurt am Main Airport through parliamentary motions, questions and speeches in the city parliament.

According to FAG, the airport expansion is affecting the quality of life of the people in Frankfurt and endangering their health, for example through aircraft noise .
